Mass Effect 2, Ship Comparison by Troodon80 Mass Effect 2, Ship Comparison by Troodon80
Mass Effect 2, Ship Comparison #3.

Compares the height of male Shepard (assumed to be approximately 6'2", same as Vanderloo).

Going from the top to bottom:
  1. Mass Relay.
  2. Collector Base.
  3. Citadel, closed. Total length (open): 44.7km. Assume (4.5km more either end when closed) 50-55km closed (should be approximately 54km, rounded up).

The first comparison can be found here, this includes Shepard's height, too.

The second comparison, which can be seen in the middle of this picture, can be found here.

These are approximate sizes and should not be taken as absolute fact.

~crimsonlee, you have to program the Mass Relays to go 'through' them, you don't just flop to the next station automatically... ;)
Hence why an asteroid crashes into it, but a TOWED item (as in dragged by something that CAN use the relays), no matter size gets swooshed away, size doesn't matter, the relays are just relays, not cannons or engines :)

Nice work on the comparisons, although its stated that Sovereign-class capital ship reapers (all big ones apart from harby the giant) are about 1.6 km's in length (probably because the across-the-puddlians and sinking-islanders like their miles, which is 1 mile = 1.609 km) apart from Harbinger who's alone at around 2.0 kms :)

This kinda makes me wonder more how did the Reapers tow the Citadel thru a Mass Relay but yet a large asteroid couldn't and ended up ramming the relay. Other wise this is pretty cool size comparisons.

I recall a mass relay being about the size of Sovereign.

You are quite welcome. I will be updating this with new ships (and updated sizes) once I've done more Mass Effect 3 references.

My poor derp boyfriend thought that the Collector Base was the Shadow Broker base. He also thought that in the previous picture, that the Collector Ship was the Citadel.

... I should probably have labelled them as was suggested to me... :XD:

Maybe later.

OMG :omg:
the collector base is that big ?
Troodon80 Featured By Owner Mar 8, 2012
As best I can tell. In one of the loading scenes for the Suicide Mission, you see the Normandy where it had crash-landed on the Collector Base.

See, now that is a manageable size for a Reaper :) Someone hand me a fly swatter :)

Seriously, those are really interesting. Never realised the Citadel was that large.
Troodon80 Featured By Owner Mar 8, 2012
Haha. If only it were so easy.

The Citadel is 44.7km while open (I've read alllll the codex and planetary entries). Assuming that it gets longer (by about ~4.5km either end) when it closes, due to the ends extending to cover the openings, the it would put it at about 53.7km (approximately). Everything else was scaled from that measurement, and Harbinger being at about 2km.
