It looks like a really small fighter

This looks like the fighter prototype Shepard conviscated from that one Cerberus lab in ME3.

I think there's a slight difference in the ones that Cerberus has and the ones the Alliance has. I will be doing the Cerberus one at some point, too.

As far as I know the red colour from Mass Effect 1/2 is just generic. In ME3, they want to make sure people knew what Alliance colours were :). Just my guess.

Art of the Mass Effect Universe book supports Troodon's guess :)

I'm still trying to work out the rough sizes from the feedback I got.

I'm going to hold off doing more sizes until I get the ME3 vehicles done, then I can do more :).

I suspect this is F-61 Trident. Just my guess.

Most likely not, this is a more modern fighter, introduced in the time between ME1 and ME2, the Trident was from Cortez's past, more likely to be this; [link]

In some sense, these two are the same fighters, but its hard to guess :) Like cruiser received some overhaul. While keeping the overall design, the compartment with the main guns was shortened and re-designed, but pretty much its still the same ship like in ME1. Hard to guess.

I compared the references for the new and the old. At first glance, you'd think they were almost the same. But when you've got both examples side by side, the differences are staggering.

Yes, one is more detailed :) Most likely they decided to remake them to be high-quality, as in ME1 the ship models were... In ME2 the models were made to be high-quality, and with the "return" of Alliance Navy they needed to remake cruiser and fighter as well. I know something similar somewhere already happened, but I cant remember where.

It's more then simply more detailed, it's a redesign. I know why they did it, I'm just saying that the changes are sufficient that they cannot be considered the same ship.

Who knows :) But than, are the old models a different class? :)

Still a fighter, possibly even still called "Trident", but not "F-61". :)
