Part krogan, part turian, only held together with Reaper technology due to differing chirality. Not a pleasant way to go.

No, I read about it in the Collector's Edition booklet, how they fused together former enemies like that. Urrh ... I hadn't even noticed the turian head until I read about the creature.

I seems to appear randomly. Some Brutes are 'equipped' with armour, while others are not.
